Today June 9th I ran the Fairfield Horseshoe, it was a hot day and the first part was really hard in the heat. Once up though the temperature was much cooler and in the cloud quite chilly, it is about 12miles and it took around 2hrs 30mins. I even got to swim in a pool towards the end (left pic). The picture in the cloud is me running on Fairfield summit and the other one is desending towards Ambleside. The rest show the well trodden path around the tops.

Running up Scafell Pike was the plan today via the corridor route but the cloud rolled in and I got as far as Styhead and Sprinkling Tarn, so I came down grains gill and of course the cloud parted as I reached the valley bottom! I headed for castle crag midway up Borrowdale and was awarded with some great views overlooking Derwent Water, Skiddaw and Borrowdale. It was a fantastic day and probably covered 8 miles, better look next time with Scafell !!!

Today was a bit wet so we walked along Coniston Water just passed Water Yeat. As we were walking the weather turned good and it ended up being a nice spring day. The area is a lovely short walk around 2 bays with loads for the dog to run around in and only 15mins from home.

Me and the old man fished the River Eden last month (2 top photos) and the Beela today 8th June. The Eden is a lovely river with its origins in the pennines and meeting the sea near Carlisle, my dad caught 2 and just the 1 for myself allthough i didnt see my dads fish Iam taking his word for it!! Today was great, taking 7 Brown trout off the top the biggest nudging 3LB a great river fish.

Bowfell revisited, we climbed Bowfell by the band in Langdale and quickly got to 3 Tarns. It was hard going as the temperature in the valley was 23 degrees and on the way up I got through 3 litres of water! The pictures are rather hazy from the heat but the views were again amazing, the Langdales from the first part of the band are perticulary impressive. I will be back soon to Bowfell but maybe carry on to the Pike.

My destination this time was Bowfell but unfortunately I didnt reach the top I had to drop down to ulverston to meet a friend!! Anyway me and Alf climbed Ulpha Fell from Cockley Beck and walked over the Crinkle Crags to 3 tarns. This was a great walk with views over the Langdales and the Scafells, Bowfell looks so impressive behind me and Alf in the picture im gonna save it for next week! An unbelievably warm Februarys day had walkers in Coniston with shorts and t-shirts on. I assended Dow Crag from the Duddon Valley side and walked along the top from Brown Pike picture top right Buck Pike and Dow Crag. The pictures are looking down Dow crag into the tarns a real head for heights was needed as Dow crag drops off in several places. The picture above is of my shadow looking down the col between Dow and the Old Man I desended at this point to Seathwaite tarn as the 'ants' were crawling all over the Old Man!!
